This
quaint hamlet on the N7 is known for the variety it offers the tourist.
As one of the oldest towns in the country it is rich in history and will
satisfy nature lovers, adventurous, flower viewers, water sportsmen as
well as those who just wish to enjoy sightseeing. It is the centre of
various flower (in season) and historical routes, hiking trials and rock
art viewing. This heart of the Rooibos world includes farming in fruit,
vegetables and is known for its 'veldskoen' factory, Strassbergers.

The
Clanwilliam Dam Resort is a popular holiday resort for water sport
enthusiasts and angling. The Clanwilliam dam is renowned as the best in
the Western Cape for water skiing. The Ramskop Nature Reserve at the dam
is home to endemic wild flower species and a famous visiting spot in
August and September.
