Port Nolloth is situated 144km northwest of Springbok. This town was established in 1854 as a small-vessel harbor as well as a railway junction for the copper-mining industry. The harbors narrow, shallow entrance makes it unsuitable for ore carriers. Port Nolloth is a centre for small-scale diamond recovery and the crayfishing industries. It is also the only holiday resort on die Diamond Coast. Fishing trawlers and dredgers against spectacular sunsets and the clean beaches makes this town an ideal holiday stop. Examples of the Nama culture can be seen at Lekkersing, which is inland, north of Port Nolloth
